Composed when Mozart was only 24, IDEOMENEO has historically been one of the master's less frequently-performed works. Yet it can be seen to exhibit certain breakthrough aspects which foreshadow the composer's later masterpieces, and was in its day a very progressive opera. This outstanding performance took place at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the renowned cast of was directed by Pier Luigi Pizzi, and conducted by Marco Guidarini.
