The incredible life of Argentinean tango composer Astor Piazzolla is explicitly detailed in this absorbing documentary. Piazzolla enlivened the genre by combining his use of a little-known instrument called the bandoneon with an ear for esoteric sounds, leading to him radically altering the traditional template on which tango is based. The footage included here is culled from various archive sources, and spans 30 years of vintage performance from Piazzolla.
