Journeys in Black: Patti Labelle (DVD)
Patti Labelle's professional singing career began in the 1960s with Patti Labelle and the Blue Belles. She was able to roll with the times, transforming herself in the 1970s with the flamboyant Labelle, before continuing as a phenomenally successful solo artist in the 1980s. This edition of BET's JOURNEYS IN BLACK profiles this electric performer, examining her decades-spanning career with performance footage and testimonials from Whitney Houston, Whoopi Goldberg, former President Bill Clinton, and more.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseFull ScreenAudio: Dolby Digital StereoInteractive Features: Interactive Menus Scene Selection

SLIDERS, a smart, mid-1990s sci-fi series follows a group of acquaintances who become thrown from one alternate dimension to another because of a malfunctioning invention. San Franciscan Quinn Mallory (Jerry O'Connell) has devoted his life to physics, and works on his own experiments when not studying for his university courses. His latest invention works on the concept of a wormhole, intended to transport a person between dimensions. When he invites his professor and a friend to witness a demonstration, everything goes awry, and the wormhole pulls in Quinn, his friend Wade (Sabrina Lloyd), Professor Maximillian Arturo (THE LORD OF THE RINGS' John Rhys-Davies), and an innocent bystander, washed-up singer Rembrandt Crying Man Brown (Cleavant Derricks). As the group struggles to find a way home, they find themselves in various incarnations of San Francisco--still the same city, but with completely different people and political and cultural situations. The ensuing mix of adventure, time travel, and alien encounters brings together the best aspects of the sci-fi genre and makes for a fast-paced, involving series.DVD Features:Region 16-Disc SetFull Frame - 1.33Additional Release Material: Commentary - 1.
