Janowitz/Karajan/Vienna Symphony - Requiem (DVD)
Mozart`s REQUIEM, his final composition, is brought to life in this production from 1971. Although Mozart died before fully completing the piece, it is regarded as one of his greatest works, and was finished by the composer Franz Xavier S ssmayr. Here, a cast including Gundula Janowitz and Christa Ludwig bring the REQUIEM to the stage, with Karl Bvhm conducting the Wiener Symphony Orchestra and the Choir of Wiener Staatsoper.
