British jazz trombonist Cliff Hardie is a regular on London`s surprisingly fertile jazz scene. Though having a trombonist as a bandleader is rare, Hardie possesses that rare combination of talent, virtuosity, and magnetism that makes it work. He is backed by the UK All-Stars, who are a 19-piece band consisting of saxophones, trombones, trumpets, guitar, piano, bass, and percussion. The big band enthusiastically pummel through an infectious set that includes tunes by Danny Street, Malcolm McFarlane, and John Barclay.

Fictionalized drama about the birth of jazz. According to the film, a Bourbon Street gambling house operator introduces it to the American public to win a girl, which is the first of a number of dubious aspects of the film that seem dated. The lead guitarist for the Donny and Marie Osmond Family, he has won the prestigious award for best lead guitarist at the Branson Missouri Awards show in 1995, 1996, and 1997. He has also played and recorded with Mel Tillis, The Moffatts, Rex Allen Junior, The Osmonds, Shoji Tabuchi, and Boxcar Willie, among others. But Mike's true love is teaching, and that shows through in this tutorial as he imparts essential information for the advanced student, such as how to play rhythm guitar for several different styles, 20 hot riffs, several harmonic licks, a cool behind-the-nut harmonic lick, and chicken pickin' riffs. Mike also includes a special song, Cannonball Rag, as a place to use the riffs.
