Uriah Heep's straightforward, hard-rocking progressive sound was a recipe for success, making them one of the most popular bands of the early 1970s. Though they also sported an ever-revolving lineup, with more than 30 musicians counted as members at one time or another, the years when Ken Hensley (guitar, keyboards, vocals) was in the group were both the band's most prolific, as well as the peak of its popularity.
