Rossini`s L`EQUIVOCO STRAVAGANTE is beautifully rendered here, with Olga Voznessenskaia, Carlo Moroni, and Luciano Miotto in lead roles. The story follows the fortunes of Ernestina, who does anything she can to prevent her marriage to Buralicchio, who she considers to be a less than adequate intellectual match. But spreading a rumor that she has deserted the army backfires when Buralicchio has Ernestina thrown in jail, although her new suitor, Ermanno, helps her to escape. This humorous opera is played out to an evocative musical backing, with much credit due to conductor Carmine Carrisi.

Michael Ritchie brings the world's longest-running musical to the big screen with this good-natured American love fable. Bellamy (Joel Grey) and Henry (Barnard Hughes) are next-door neighbors and the fathers of two lovely children, Luisa (Jean Louisa Kelly) and Matt (former New Kids On The Block vocalist Joe McIntyre). The fathers bicker constantly, insisting that their children stay away from one another. Instead, the kids grow closer. When a circus rolls into town, and the fathers soften up and enlist the aid of El Gallo (Jonathon Morris) to help celebrate union of the two lovebirds, things don't go as planned. Matt and Luisa begin to question their relationship, and yearn for the mysteries that life has to offer outside their town's limits. Eventually, El Gallo deceives Luisa into realizing what she has at home, and she and Matt are reunited, deciding once and for all who--and what--it is that they want from life. Ritchie lovingly transfers the stage story into the expanse of the American West, providing a realistic backdrop for the supremely fantastical story. Featuring the unforgettable hit songs Try to Remember, Plant a Radish, Soon It's Gonna Rain, They Were You, and many others.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseAnamorphic Widescreen - 2.35Single Side - Single LayerAudio: Dolby Digital 5.1 - English Dolby Surround - French Dolby Surround - SpanishAdditional Release Material: Audio Commentary - 1. DARK WATERS, one of Andre de Toth's early Hollywood films, is a sinister psychological thriller starring Merle Oberon as Leslie Calvin, a woman traumatized by a shipwreck in which she loses her parents. After a lengthy hospitalization, Leslie goes to live with her aunt and uncle, whom she has never met. Leslie is unsettled when, though she has telegrammed ahead, no comes to meet her. Kindly, handsome local doctor George Grover (Franchot Tone) drives Leslie to the family's remote, sultry Louisiana sugar plantation, but scatterbrained Aunt Emily (Fay Bainter) and distant Uncle Norbert (John Qualen) insist they did not know of her arrival - despite the Western Union letter in the trash. Also residing in the mansion is the strangely domineering, forbidding Mr. Sydney (Thomas Mitchell), and smarmy, young Cleeve (Elisha Cook, Jr.) who continually pressure the fragile, nervous Leslie to recall her near-death experience. Leslie gradually fears for her sanity when she starts hearing voices. Dr. Grover is the only ray of hope for Leslie on the dark, threatening bayou plantation where things are not what they seem.DVD Features:Region 0Keep CaseFull Frame - 1.33
