A classic story of ill-fated love, AIDA exhibits the Italian opera virtuoso's flair for affecting melodies and impassioned, heroic stories. Set during the time of the Pharaohs, when Egypt is fighting off the invading Ethiopia, Aida is an Ethiopian princess torn between love, family, and nation. The man she loves is a commander in the Egyptian army who eventually captures her father with a group of Ethiopian prisoners.
