Influential American drummer Steve Gadd, who has been making his mark on the music world since the early 1970s, was honored at this unique event hosted by Bill Cosby. The program featured selections from throughout Gadd's illustrious career, which included collaborations with Chick Corea, Al DiMeola, and the Manhattan Jazz Quintet, as well as his own band, the Gadd Gang. The all-star band was made up of Vinnie Colaiuta and Rick Marotta on drums, Michael Landau on guitar, Jimmy Johnson playing bass, Larry Goldings on keyboards. Guest appearances by Will Lee (vocals) and Tom Scott (saxophone) were a highlight, and the grand finale was a stellar performance by Steve Gadd with James Taylor and The Band.
