Britten - The Turn of the Screw (DVD)
Henry James' 1898 novel THE TURN OF THE SCREW is brought to spectacular life in this operatic adaptation by Benjamin Britten. Returning to the location that James's original work is set in--Fulbeck Hall in Lincolnshire--Mark Padmore, Lisa Milne, and Diane Montague are among the cast traversing the rooms and corridors of the Hall as they perfectly interpret the original story. Some inspired cinematography helps conjure up a heady atmosphere, while the costume designs are wonderfully reminiscent of the period. Richard Hickox conducts the City of London Sinfonia throughout, offering a highly appropriate musical backing to the events as they unfold.DVD Features:Region 0Keep CaseWidescreen - 16:9Audio: Dolby Stereo - English Dolby Surround - English Subtitles - English, French, German, Spanish, Italian - OptionalAdditional Product: Booklet - Liner Notes
