Joseph Boulogne, or Le Chevalier Saint Georges (who was also known as
Le Mozart Noir ) was an incredible violin player who managed to overcome seemingly insurmountable odds to take his place on the world`s stages. Eighteenth century society frowned on the talents of Georges, largely due to the color of his skin, but when he picked up a violin and enchanted them with his sublime music, he soon became an important boundary-breaker in the world of music. This documentary tells the story of his life, which saw Georges rise from humble beginnings to lead some of France`s greatest orchestras, as well as becoming a fencer and army General of some repute.
