First performed in 1725, Handel`s RODELINDA underwent a lengthy stint away from the public`s gaze, until it was revived in the mid 20th century. This version was originally shot for a UK television channel, and puts an interesting new twist on the tale. Setting the story in the silent movie-era, the story couples its traditional leanings towards jealousy and duplicitousness with a fascinating subplot about the emergence of cinema into popular culture.
