One of the most outspoken, enduring, and endearing voices in country music offers a collection of gospel songs, both contemporary and classic. Loretta Lynn was famously a coal miner's daughter; born in Kentucky and married at 13, she raised her children for a decade before she began singing in local nightclubs. Meeting with some success, she and her husband tirelessly promoted her first single, I'm a Honky Tonk Girl to radio stations, and it paid off. She developed a persona as the first feminist country star, with songs such as You Ain't Woman Enough and The Pill, a song about birth control that was banned from many radio stations. That didn't slow her down, however, and Lynn went on to develop a successful partnership with Conway Twitty that generated numerous hits. Experiencing a comeback at the age of 70 with the album VAN LEAR ROSE, on which she collaborated with Jack White of The White Stripes, Loretta Lynn is truly a force to be reckoned with. The amazing selection featured here showcases rare video footage of Loretta's performances on THE WILBURN BROTHERS SHOW from early in her career, with performances of over 20 heartfelt and inspirational songs.DVD Features:Region (unknown)Keep CaseFull Frame - 1.33Tracks:1.
